Cole Hersee Start Solenoid

We weren't able to travel as expected this summer so I ended up looking for projects. I replaced the start solenoid and the remote start solenoid with Cole Hersee 24143 units. This was preemptive as I wasn't having any problems. Anyhow, went on a trip a few weeks ago and wouldn't you know, the new $65 Cole Hersee start solenoid gave us problems. (I didn't shut down on fuel stops having read Roland's post) Anyhow, I replaced the Cole Hersee today with a Blue Sea and all is now well.

I was just looking through some old posts and see that Pierce indicated that Cole Hersee has replaced that number with another. Should have read that post before I whipped out the credit card.

Bummer. Here's the difference: Solenoids & Relays24143 | Cole Hersee - Littelfuse Still should not have failed. They seem to have a high failure rate. My boost and aux start have both failed. Ignition still ok. I keep a hammer handy.
