Furnace Won't Come On Using Generator

Hi All .... Thanks in advance for your knowledge and Help! ^.^d

Went to storage facility today where our 97 U295 is stored. Leaving tomorrow for a weeklong trip. Temps in the 40's here. Turned generator on hoping to warm inside with furnace. Furnace never turned on :o ..... What things should I check to correct this?

Also, my Link 2000 Inverter has a code of E - 10 blinking..... I just had the outside battery compartment completely cleaned and batteries serviced. Would the batteries being disconnected cause this code of E-10?

Appreciate your advice ....

If you teporarily have low or no voltage you will get the E-10 code. Here is a link to the Link 2000 instruction book the codes are on page 28-29.  http://www.foreforums.com/index.php?action=media;sa=media;in=1736;dl

First thing I would check if nothing happened when you turned the heater on would be to see if you have voltage to the heater.

Check what that error code is telling you, but my guess is that the charger is off line so the batteries are not getting charged with the generator running (or shore power for that matter).  It might be as easy as a reset to get things going, and running the engine long enough to get battery voltage back in the normal range.

If the battery voltage is low, the furnace will not work.  Running the engine should allow you to start the furnace too.

My front furnace did something similar last year. I found a loose connection on the furnace board. Earlier the rear furnace died. You DID check the breaker/fuse?

Check your shore power meter which reads he line voltage.  It will also read generator voltage when not on shore power.  It could be running and not giving you the proper voltage which would be the same as having the charger turned off.  Have a great day  ----  Fritz

When you say the furnace did not come on did you mean that the blower did not work? Could it be that the propane was turned off? If you have a propane sensor it could need to be reset after the batteries were disconnected to get the gas going.
