1998 U270 Powertech 8k Start/Stop switch

Hey everyone!  I have the IDL8000 generator and my book has several schematics for the auto-start system.  Most of them show a momentary start/stop switch.  On the face of my generator is a start/stop switch but it isn't momentary, it is maintained, meaning I flip if to Start and it stays it doesn't go back to the middle.  I'm wondering if this is normal or not.  Does anyone else have the same maintained switch or is my switch bad?

That is how ours works but we do have the 10kw rather than the 8kw.
