a nasty leak

a neighbour of mine in yuma "who does not use a computer" has a leak in
his black tank. he asked me to ask if anybody on the forum has had this
problem, and might also know the degree of difficulty to remove and repair
the tank.  his coach is an 06 phenix.

I had my tanks on a 2007 Nimbus pulled and wrapped with heating blankets. To do this, we disconnected all the plumbing for both grey and blackwater. Then, there are a few blocks that hold the tank down to unscrew. Once that was done it was rather easy to remove the tanks. Oh, we also removed the hose and electric reels too. Lots of stuff to get out of the way but that is the hard part. Just repeat the process going back in.

I took mine out of our 95 300. Like Bob said, not too bad. I was not able to repair the black tank though as it was Crosslink Polyethylene. The manufacturer advised me that it could not be repaired. I had it plastic welded anyhow but that did not stop the leak. I ended up replacing the tank.

Be advised that many will argue that this type of tank can indeed be repaired but my own experience indicates otherwise. Good luck to your friend.
