VMSpc and Win 8.1...wassup?

I tried to get a new ASUS T100 tablet running 8.1 to work on my VMSpc this weekend, with the result being another heavy case of "loss of Zen". I did read on the Silverleaf website about an issue with "signed drivers" that indicates you need to disable that requirement in the software. I did that (at least I think I did) and reloaded the VMSpc software and drivers but stil no joy. The computer will not communicate with the VMS. I could not get any of the ports to work.
Any ideas?

It works well if you properly configure Windows 8.1. I think the Silverleaf Website explains how to do it but if not then give them a call for assistance.

Be sure you download the latest version of VMSpc too.  Driver issues should be easily over come.  Silverleaf should get theri devices "signed".  It would make things easier.  Son't give up.

Hey folks
Art from Silverleaf here

I almost feel famous for the times I'm mentioned here! ;-)

These drivers are a _bugger_
We overcame the signing issue last October with the official release of the 10-27-2014 package. This eliminates the need to trick Windows into bypassing the signing process. Been there, Did that, got the t-shirt.

The process isn't perfect--nor will it likely ever be. It's not a signing issue now, its hardware issues relating to the Atom processor and some bus-masters within the Tablet and notebooks. Seems the pain is felt mostly by those with that specific combination. I'm still tinkering with the driver set (from Novembers' build) yet, when I improve it for Win8.1, it makes it worse for WinXP.  Win7 is pretty stable...with a auto-install success rate of about 50%.

All that being said, a manual process of adding the Virtual-Serial-Port ("manually adding the driver") works in All systems.

Well. Almost.  *blush*

The Acer "Switch" --which is a truly nifty tablet with docking keyboard--Is A Non-starter.  :-/
The Internal USB 'hub' can't accurately translate the hardware type (viz our JIB) at all.

Aside from those (5 that I'm aware of so far) the outliers are a 2 Toshiba laptops (Vista...and wheezing...) and an abacus being used by a fella in North Eastern Canada.  Poor combination of user and hardware...at -20'F  <As funny as I get; promise.>

Good news: A new version of the PC software is being built now. It may be out by summer. We'll see. It will also be in the VMSpc Downloads--a likely labeled as "Beta."

Here's a big thanks to Rick in East Texas who brought you folks here to my attention.

Cheers

Art @ Silverleaf walked me through the manual driver install and now it works. I did appreciate his followups to the Forum. The only issue I have now is getting PID 120 (retard temp) to load. I will mess with it more today but more likely, I will give him another opportunity to shine.
The 10 inch tab is a perfect size for displaying Silverleaf engine info as I will mount it similar to Roger's (home2fromhastings) install. It will be nice to get the laptop off of the dash.
Thanks for all of the inputs.

PID 120 is retarder temp. Works
PID 121 is retarder status.  Haven't tried this one.
PID 122 is retarder %. Haven't tried this one either.
