Another tire question

Hi all....the PO of our coach had new Michelin XZA steer tires put on in 2011.  I can not find a date code on them anywhere. The best I can find is a K and a 144 under it, see pic. They are starting to get some very minor surface cracking near the lettering but still have the little rubber nubbies on the tires and are in good condition. I'm just looking for date code info to stay on top of things. Any ideas? The Michelin web site was no help

As Chris said, it WILL have a date code on it.  It will be on one sidewall or the other.  Yes, you may have to crawl under/turn the wheel all the way to one side to be able to see it.

The full DOT number (with last 4 digits indicating the WEEK and YEAR of production) is only on one sidewall, as that part of the mold has to .... duh ... be changed weekly.

The Bridgestones on my U280 steer position are date coded on the inside sidewalk.

Yup, just depends on which way the tire guy mounts them.  Most who think about it, mount them so that they can be read without crawling under the rig.

Here is a copy of Michelin's RV tire booklet that explains coding and a lot more.

Yeah Rick that's why I really wanted to be sure on the date.  All are surface and not big enough to even get a depth gauge in yet, but I'm sure over the next year or so I may be able to get  measurement.
