Door Holder Open Thing

My coach door latches in the open position, and although I can see some value in this feature...sometimes. I would like to disable it. Any enlightenment?

Found the adjustment instructs on Barry's site. Maybe just a little adjustment will fix the problem.

I have looked at the top of my door and see the metal keeper part has been over used and rounded off.  The result is it does not hold, and the door handle does not need to be released to all the door to swing closed.  I too would be happy to share my parts with someone that wants them in exchange for a working set.

Well, you all have me thinking...our door has always just swung freely, stopped only by a nylon strap when opened.  Does anyone know if we supposed to have something on our door (1996 U295) that would hold it in the open position as you describe above?

I'd really like mine to swing free, with the arm at the top fixed so I could latch it open....if I wanted.

I do not know how the PTL doors we have can be made to not latch when wanted.  You may want to contact PTL Engineering (PTL Engineering | Committed to quality from start to finish) about that.  If you need a new stay arm assembly they will sell that and any other parts that are used on the doors.  I replaced my worn out arm assembly last year, a very simple task.
