Anyone have experience replacing their Shoreline electric Reel?

I have a damaged shore cord that is creating electrical problems so that my Progressive Industries EMS-HW50C will not allow me connect to shore power. Extensive debugging with Progressive Industries support points to the shore cord.  My shore cord got damaged one day when it was accidentally run over.  (I can't remember anymore the dimwit who did that)  :'( ....  :-[
In any case I'm looking to replace it this week.  Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Ron, I rebuilt my power reel on my 2002. That's quite a project but it is entirely possible, you just have to remove a lot of rivets to get to it. The wires that connect to the rotating contacts had shorted inside the hub reel so I lost no cable length. If you have time and you're handy with tools then go for it. You should look at the plastic drive gears to see if there are overly worn while you have it apart. There are replacement parts available if you know where to look.

Thanks for the quick replies Roland and Jim... To clarify I'm not attempting to repair my reel.  I'm going to swap it out with a new one.  I think that would be enough stress for me.

Oops... Did not know you had a reel. Different fix there I would think. Not familiar with a reel so I cannot help much.

Let's remember Ron is asking about replacing his entire powered shoreline reel, not just a cord.

Something like one of these

Shoreline Reels CC50D01R-SR Motorized 50 Amp Power Cord Reel
Glendinning CRR50-12 Cablemaster Motorized 50A RV Power Cord Reel

The original is likely a TDA RV5036 which from my quick web search seems is no longer made (note to self since we have the same reel in our 2003)

Good find, Michelle. I like the second one, it has rollers.

Thanks for all the replies.  I have my Shoreline CC50D01R-SR coming tomorrow ( Under $500 delivered). And yes it does come loaded with 33 feet of 50 amp cord.
A word of advice from Mike Rogers, MOT... Make sure of your dimensions and available space.  Plan about 5-6 hours for the change out. You will likely have to enlarge the holes for the anchoring bolts as Foretravel used large bolts with the old shoreline reels.
I'll try to take some pictures as I go through the process.

First look... Here is the before picture.  As you can see space is at a premium.

One of the first steps is to remove the panel with the light above to gain access to the connection terminal behind.

New power reel project is complete.  A very interesting challenge.  I'll sit down over the weekend and provide a synopsis with pics.
In the mean time here is a picture of the finished product.
