Javelina replacement w/wireless color LCD and nite vision camera

Old CRT and motorized camera toggle switch removed; fed monitor wire thru hole to Javelina computer and 12V; wired new monitor and camera to original Javelina dash on/off switch; all working great.  New monitor mounted with velcro spacers onto the original glass CRT tube cover in order to continue to access the Javelina tank and compass switches.  Camera wired to 12V and Ground of the original camera over the bed; no need to ground the monitor at the front.

Looks to be the same camera I installed about 5 years ago. Still working well. $24 delivered at: 18 LED Anti Fog IR Night Vision Waterproof Car Rear View Reverse Backup Camera

Monitor too. With both, the night vision is excellent.

How does that camera do at night when raining ... if you have experienced?

Assuming you mean is it waterproof? I mounted ours inside as seen in my old posts. Camera is advertised to be waterproof and looks that way. I have never fogged the lens from inside but occasionally have to wipe off the outside lens glass cover as it collects a little dust.

Image is good in the rain at night. Night vision while fine is mostly black and white. Good image of the toad even in dead dark conditions.

You are limited to either looking downward to see the vehicle and tow bar or further back to catch some traffic. A wider angle camera could be fitted but then the monitor would not be large enough to see the details it now sees.

When you order a monitor, make sure it has the option for more than one source. Not that important on a bus style Foretravel but the GVs have a blind spot up front and another camera could be used to switch between images.

Wireless has also come a long ways in the last few years with increased range and only a little more cost.

Info on the camera was nil....no data on what type camera (ccd, cmos?)  Not tested with night nor in the rain;  will update the forum then.  Cleaned up the rear a bit by covering the old camera lens window;  also added photo of the wireless transmitter mounted under the OH bed cabinet nr the clock.

I think I have the same camera, I had replaced the old B&W almost two years ago. It works great all around. Just for the first time we drove through a lot of rain couple of weeks ago and at night.  I could barely see the front bumper of the jeep in the back. I think it was so bad that no camera could do any better. But since then I decided to add one or two more cameras.
