Catfish I have been using centramatics on my Peterbilt big truck  for  7 years or  so. I have the tires  spin  balanced  when they are new and the  centramatics keep them  in balance through the tire life.I am getting over 135,000 out of steer tires and 2 to 300,000 out of my super single drive tires.I like them.

That sounds like outstanding tire mileage!

Should a person install these centramatics only on new tires or what?

Richard, Install the Centramatics anytime, probably More convenient to install when having wheels off for other work and would save a few bucks labor.

I don't know for sure but I think I heard that Centramatics will install them for free if you stop by their shop.  Not bad if you're in the neighborhood.

I have been running  centramatics on my coach front and rear for about 8 years now, when I install new tires I have steer tires balanced. The centramatics keep everything running smooth.

In northern New Mexico we are low-tech and lag behind innovation.  Don't have any balancing machines that can handle these tires.  So the local shop offered me "bean bags."  They seem to work.  But I rarely go over 80 mph these days, unless going downhill on well-known mountain roads.  I now use the bags (something similar to Equal is my guess) in pickups and cars.  Andy1
