Bernd completed the mission

I finished up at Bernd's today with mission accomplished.  I went in for new fuel lines, resonator, and while on the way from Arizona, both my oil pressure dash gauge read 103 ( pegged at high end) and my VMS-PC.  Bernd thought it sounded like  a bad oil pressure sender and we would replace it.  Easier said than done.

Cummins told them that they no longer make the sender and have a new one which is a simple on/off type of sender.  If hooked to the dash gauge it would read either about 45-50 or 0, on or off.  Also, to install the new sender, a new wiring harness and reprogram the ECM was required- not acceptable.  Bernd did not accept Cummins solution and talked a little up the chain until he got someone who could give him the correct part # ( same one the folks with the 5.9 Cummins use).  It was in stock here in NAC the whole time, just needed the right part # and Bernd to shake them up to get it.  Installed the sender, plugged it into my existing harness, both gauge and VMS-PC are reading correct oil pressure.  Thanks Bernd.

Coach runs and idles very well now with the new fuel lines,and the Racor700.

Resonator looks good, sounds good, runs good ( just a short run around the loop so far).

Overall- good work.

Bern's meeting lot worked well- Met John/Pat, Larry & Nancy, Bob, Mark, Don Hay, Mike from Mike and Jackie ( hope to have lunch tomorrow with them).

Lunch for sure Ted...you need to post photos of resonator.  Looks great.  Very interested if increased noise level in coach?  Not concerned with outside.  The Donaldson is shorter than the magnaflow, not sure he can install it the same way as yours?

I replaced the winn couple years ago after I asked Keith Risch, what is the one thing most likely to shut me down?

Have a friend wants to see your resonator...you can charge admission!

Thanks for the report Ted. Can you share what made you go to the Racor 700 and do you use the Baldwin filters with it?

Bernd recommended the Racor since it has a double filtering system as well as an electric primer pump ( no more filling the filters by hand).  Since we were there anyway with getting the new fuel lines, I decided to go for it.  In an emergency I can use the Baldwin BF1329 but I won't have the sight cup or the water probe in the bottom.  If this works as good as I'm told, will only have to change filters at annual service- yeah.  I will order some of the Racor filters from Filterbarn when I get to Ohio- I think they are about $15, so still pretty reasonable.

I will give a follow up report on how the new systems are working after we have been on the road and got some miles on it.

I installed the 700 series last year. No issues.

If it helps, we had our exhaust become detached ahead of the muffler.  I only figured out that this occurred because as I was leaving a toll booth I happened to hear it echo a bit louder than usual.  The turbo really cuts a ton of exhaust noise.
