xantrex inverter charger failure

The xantrex 458 charger inverter on my 96' U320 is doing strange things.  The remote panel is shutting down.  You can restart it by pushing the power button, but it will only stay on about a minute and shuts down again.  This is in charge mode, not inverter mode.  Anyone seen this problem before?  We had a power failure in our storage facility and that appears to be when this started.

I had a similar problem last year. It turned out to be the breaker for the Xantrex on the bed panel. I just flipped it on and off several times and things started working again then replaced the breaker. I have the Xantrex 3000.

Also, check or just clean the contact points between the charger and the batteries. Too much resistance or a bad connection might cause the problem.
