Re: Recliners

In the 1980s, when the DW and I liked sitting close to each other ( ;P ) , we bought a Lazy Boy love seat. It was grey and was the type that, when reclined, didn't push back but pushed forward (so you could put it right next to a wall and still recline). That feature was very new back then.
When we moved to the farm in 1993 that Lazy Boy went with us. And when we moved to the Lake House in 2008 that Lazy Boy went with us. When we bought a very expensive trendy sectional the Lazy Boy was relegated to the storage area at the shop. Last year, when the very expensive trendy sectional wore out (poor fabric choices) we put it out on the curb for free and moved the Lazy Boy back in.
It still works exactly like it did in the 1980s and even looks exactly the same. I really can't see any signs of wear on it. 13 yr old Hailey and her mom were over last night and Hailey had it reclined for a couple of hours (she had just broken her leg during soccer on Saturday) with no complaints.
I dunno if Lazy Boy still makes 'em like that but when I replace the recliner in the FT I'm putting one in place of the OEM chair. I think the 1980s model we have is too wide.
