1989 Grand villa, Fortravel , Part 3

Well.. It was great to get advice from ya'll under just one thread..  seams it's been split up by 10 ways now..  cant find
anything..  and members messaging me wondering whats going on..

Heck,  I cant even find part 2..  I'm either stupid or well,  I'll hold my thoughts for now..

This is General Discussion right?   

I was able to persuade the the owner of the storage lot to accept another months rent..  so I could continue to iron out the problems
with the coach.. She saw me working on it 2 days ago all day till dark..  so perhaps my effort awarded me a little leniency.

I am learning every day from ya'll.. 

The learning curve is huge and is more than I could have anticipated.

I've already got a lot on my plate with my health... I certainly didn't need to complicate things more than they already
are..  but, i am not swayed ..  I love the rig so far and am not ready to give up on her yet..

I really stepped in it this time didn't I  :P

I didn't wash the coach, and it's filthy..  I'm kind of walking on eggshells where it's parked so I didn't want to push it..  I did however have my $8/hr worker, clean all the windows and clean up the wheels and exhaust pipe. 
Under my  rationale  when I was younger,  You can can put a set of chrome Craeger Star Wheels on any old car and make it look  good.. !  Even if I end up towing it,  she'll look good :) 

Oh, by the way, there is a tire mount up under the front..  it appears to be shop made..

I split the original thread into several because there were multiple conversations going on, each with a different technical focus.  I had several members send me messages asking "please split the 5 page long topic, it's going in different directions at the same time and I can't follow it".  Others said "please give it a meaningful title".  I did try to include "1989" in all the split-out topics so it would be easy to tell where they came from.

It's a lot easier for members to answer and follow the discussion/answers if the each main subject (say - air system, towing a coach, plumbing leaks, which batteries, etc.) has its own topic.  Putting them all in one discussion gets overwhelming for everyone and the details get lost in the noise.  Some folks eventually just skip past the topic because it's too difficult to follow. 

It also helps searching in the future to have separate topics.  For example, if someone wanted to know about the D2 governor and did a search, one of the threads that would have come up would have been titled "Bought a 1989, Part xxx".  Most people would not even read that thread because the topic title was completely unrelated to the subject they are interested in.

So keeping the topics less general and separate by theme helps the OP (original poster) get answers to the questions they are asking and lets people be more effective in helping them.  It also helps members in the future when they are searching the forum for information.

Hope that helps clarify why we split topics and why we sometimes edit the topic titles.

Thank you for taking the time to explain this in great length ... I have been
a member of other forums that pertain to my interests.. One of them, for
almost 20 years.. I have never seen thread splitting before.
I don't think I've ever run into a more thorough, devoted and obviously caring Moderator.

And, Mark, once you meet Steve and Michelle in person you will realize they are also very, very nice people, along with their furry kids. We were at FOT and had the luck to meet them. Hard to believe two such talented people could be such nice, ordinary seeming geniuses. They hide it well for us that only know how to turn on our computers.
