Audit monitor issue....

After doing some research here I ordered a new replacement monitor for the old girl.  I thought I ordered the right one and after the install the Audit info was reversed on the display and the rear camera video is rolling.  In the monitor setting no reverse image option.  My mistake was thinking that the two NTSC / PAL operating system monitor had it covered because it handles both.  So for those making the move double check that it has "reverse image" capability when ordering to save yourself some frustration.

The day wasn't a waste....the 80's cassette deck is gone and my new Sony CD radio is installed ^.^d ....both are good DYI projects just be patient working with the wires marking as you go.

First thing is to get rid of the rear camera. A new one may allow you to use the monitor you purchased. On the monitor check list, auto PAL/NTSC, mirror image/reverse/inverted image and multiple input are musts. If wireless, it should have a 50 meter range. Generally, if the monitor has a row of buttons across the bottom of the face, it will do all the above functions. Search criteria include rear, view, camera, monitor, truck, RV.

As I posted yesterday, for under $100, you can get a wireless model that only needs 12V at the rear from the old camera source and 12V at the front. Less than $100 today buys a camera/monitor that exceeds the performance of a multi thousand dollar system when your coach was built. No need to have a company here paste their sticker on the same Chinese camera and charge many times the price.

The wireless units are perfect for even the most DIY challenged owner.

I used a regular camera on my Lazy Daze, fed the signal and power wire thru the back wall for power availability. I then got a video wireless transmitter/receiver set from Amazon (IIRC), plugged the transmitter into the camera, the receiver into a mirror mounted monitor. Doing this way, both the transmitter and receiver were inside of the aluminum body skin, AND I didn't have to run wire from the rear to the dash. Still, if I have my WiFi router on, cell booster on, 2mtr radio on....I get interference, but it is still usable.
