towable

My question to anyone that might know, can a 1998 Ford Ranger 5 speed two wheel drive be towed on the flat?

I have no information on the 1998, but the FMCA Towable Guide: Towing Guides - towing four wheels down

shows that the 1999 Ranger 5 speed manual two wheel drive IS towable 4 wheels down.

Sounds similar to my 2004 F150, 2WD, 5 Spd manual, Ford sez NO flat towing, Remco (?) sez if a Mazda Trany, no limit, no restrictions, Ford sez it has the Mazda. Have towed trouble free 45,000+.
Ford takes the lawyerly position on many towable vehicles, suggest contacting  Remco for honest answer.

I would think a 1998 Ranger has a completely different drivetrain than a a 2004 F150......  can't compare apples to kumquats.

Unfortunately Remco states "no information for this vehicle" for the 1998 Ranger.

Should be able to. Check the owners manual. Dingy towing guide back to 2000 says so. I'm looking for a supercab ranger myself. Prefer a 3 liter or 4.0. If I can find an 01 to 05 ranger Edge I will be in toad heaven.

You might be surprised. The Ranger is the same vehicle as the Mazda B series pickup and uses the Mazda M5OD trans.

Oh yes, Remco did not list my F150 either, why I emailed, asked what was required to tow the Ford F-150, The response was as I posted above.
Why if I had a question about any non listed tow question, not being a genius, I would contact Remco again instead of guessing.
