We want to fly the American Flag...which setup do you prefer?

Hitch mount or ladder mount? Any suggestions on the best brand, pole width and height? Lots of choices. :D  :D

Thanks all!

Howdy Jeff,
We fly the American and the POW/MIA flags.  I put the flag up in the morning and take down at night.  I really enjoy this daily event.  Here's what we use:

TAYLOR MADE Top Mount Flag Pole Socket | West Marine
I had one of these mounted on the flat surface of the front GV bumper.  The flag pole fit tightly in it and I stored the flag in the bay. On arrival at a Campsite that is one of the first items to be put up.
I also fly the flag in front of my home 24/7/365, given the BS going on over flags and especially in the south I may buy a bigger flag and maybe even install a very large and tall flag pole.
Yeah, I know this borders on political but there is nothing political about showing your love and respect for your country and its flag.

Ours is a ladder mount.  My resourceful husband found/had given to him an aluminum awning tube that he converted to a flag pole. With us camp hosting we see the "flag pole buddy" system used a lot & it seems to be well built.

I second Dave's FlagPoleBuddy recommendation. Easy up, easy down.

Have ladder mount and usually put a bungie cord at top of ladder to keep pole from moving in the wind.  Got mine at "www.blazinbelltech.com"  Tube style with light or silver ball on top.  I fly the American Flag and Texas or Navy flag.  :))  :))

We bought this pole from Poles and Holders in January 2011 - Poles and Holders :: Poles :: PNH-16- Deluxe (**NEW & VERY POPULAR**) Flag....
In March 2015 when we returned to our coach we found the pole and flag laying on the roof. I called them expecting to buy a replacement, but they said as long as we can still read their name on the pole just sent it back. We did, they sent us a new pole and replaced the silver ball for the top that also broke.
I also agree with using the Flag Pole Buddy as the holder. We have been using that since Jan. '11 too. I contacted them about replacing the fuzzy Velcro strips, which wore off long age and they sent new ones free.
