finding a PO

Would it be proper to post the Motorcade number of my coach on the Forum to see If any of the previous owners might be on the Forum? I have no records after Aug. 2005 in my coach and the PO I bought it from was widowed from the person who maintained the coach without keeping records. She didn't even know it had Aqua-hot just where the light switches were.

craneman, Motorcade numbers belong to the member, not the coach. If yours has a number on it then that number belongs to the last owner who was a member. If that wasn't the widow from whom you bought then probably her husband or conceivably the owner before that. Many Foreforums correspondents have old Motocade registers and might be able to look it up for you. Do not know if Beverly Koontz in the office could release this information or not, sorta doubt it.
Post it here by all means, can't hurt (notice, most of us do)

Definitely not the lady I bought it from, they owned it from 4/14 until I purchased it 11/15  The original owner kept immaculate records until he traded it in around 8/05 after that there isn't a receipt for anything. It has the household refrigerator upgrade along with inverter and a/c upgrades flat screen TV's etc. but no records. The Motorcade number is 16430 I am sure Foretravel would not disclose personal information. Possibly might contact and give my info. I might try that.

I am surprised that there are no names on the service receipts on the previous owner's "immaculate records"-- or is it just a synopsis of what was done.

BTW we keep BOTH (copies of receipts and a document with all recorded work).

There are records and all receipts including the sales contract right up until it was traded in in 2005, then nothing. Gary Bouland has pm'd me with a possible owner who purchased it in 2005.  Ron Hawkins of Innovative Coachworks.

If it was Ron's Foretravel, I would expect it to have been maintained very well.

He owns Innovative Coachworks, an authorized Foretravel Service Center, near Wichita, Kansas. (They still give 10% Motorcade member discounts.)

He *might* be able to supply you with the missing receipts.

Good luck,

I called Ron's shop and they said he would be out of town until the end of next week. The person I spoke to wasn't employed when Ron owned the coach so had no additional information. I found a stick-it note on the Foretravel owners manual with the name of Ron on it dated 8/05 I am sure the coach was his. As far as records after he purchased it, either he kept them or the next owner got rid of them. There is still one more owner between him and the person I bought it from. The first owner had made up his own notebook which was left in the coach and that is why I have all the receipts and records from 4/99 to 8/05

Talked to Ron today, it is his coach no records were kept in the coach as all work was done by the shop. It turns out I bought it from his aunt, who owned it for one and a half years. When he sold it the original batteries from 1999 were still working fine. The new 8D agm's are just over a year old. Now know the coach has been cared for and will continue to do so.

In spite of a few problems (e.g., fuel lines), sounds like you discovered a Foretravel with a good pedigree and (hidden) history of regular, professional maintenance.

Congratulations and good luck for future adventures!

I love stories like this where a person is able to trace down ownership. I have been into corvettes for thirty plus years and finding previous owners is part of the fun of owning. Good luck and now you have a source for questions you may have in the future.

I have met Ron and have had him work on mine when I had it.  He knows what he is doing and it is believable that he simply fixed or updated what was needed in his shop.
Last time I saw the Coach he had stripped the decals and polished out the surface to look like new, he was in the process of doing his own head lite conversion and all lites had been converted to LED.  I did not see the inside but I did see the work he did on his dad's coach and it was FT quality.  Is he still in business ?  How about some pictures of the coach.

He did not do the headlight conversion and I don't see any LED's The decals are gone and the pictures I saw of it online is why I drove over 2400 miles to look at it. It was parked in a campground and had not been polished or sealed since Ron owned it. I will post pictures of it after I clean it up. Still have the hyd. motor to rebuild and other inspections so it is not going to happen soon.
On a side note Ron really believes in the retarder, his new coach has Jake's and he misses the retarder. When I inspected the brakes I thought they had been recently replaced but after talking to him they are the original pads with 93,000 miles on them.
He is still in business and gave me a lot if info on the upgrades that were done, The residential refrigerator came through the window by the dinette, and the Drain Master and Waste Master were put on while he was a distributor for them.
