Mattress removal and replacement

We need some help from all you wonderful Foretravel Owners!  We need to replace the (original) queen size mattress in our 1997 U295 36ft Foretravel.  Does anyone know, have advice or hints as to go about doing this?  Our configuration is a middle aisle bedroom entry, no pocket doors.  Just trying to flip the darn thing was an exhausting trial.  Thanks and appreciation in advance for any help!

When we removed ours we were able to slide the mattress into the isle on the curb side of the bed. This enabled it to then be snaked out through the hall. It would have been quite a video if we had made one of the process.

There are some pictures on here somewhere (that I can't seem to find at this moment) where the owners had to cut the mattress apart then use some ratcheting tie downs to fold up the springs that were left to get them out.

Pretty much how we did it.  It is a wrestling match.  We put in a Costco Memory Foam mattress.  We have Tempurpedic at home and at under $400 on sale this was worth a try.  It has been great for us.  Some don't like foam mattresses.  Too hot.  We have a ceiling fan and have no problems at all.

When we bought our MH last year Teresa looked at the mattress and told the guy,"Keep it".  We went with a cool gel memory foam mattress from SAMs Club. At around $400.00 was a lot cheaper than our at home Tempurpedic and to me more comfortable.

As the others said, you have to wrestle it out.  Foul language may be involved so keep the children away. Once you get it past the ceiling fan the rest is not too bad.  Scoot the passenger seat as far back as you can it get the thing out the front door. It gives you more of an angle.  We've had ours in and out three times (Don't asked me why!).

I have heard of guys who simply took a battery operated sawzall and cut the old mattress in two, came out easy that way.

We replaced ours with a Sleep Number queen.
Our '96 295 is probably almost identical inside to yours.
I don't remember a particular problem. Obviously it  has to go out on edge and I expect we took it off the frame to street side before snaking it out .

The end will justify the means!!!

Steve cut ours apart when we replaced it.  Sliced the cover off with a utility knife then bolt cutters to "disassemble" the innerspring skeleton.
