Tennesse RV 2016

The most recent thread I could find about Tennessee RV was 7-8 months old. Since some of us on the Forum lack the time or skills (or both) to service our coaches, Susan & I thought we would add this updated review of TN RV. Moderator(s): if this should be moved to one of the threads marked "Warning: No posts for 120 days," then apologies for starting a new topic here!

Short review:  We have been very pleased.  Recommend TN RV highly.  Hope this post is comprehensive, based on questions in earlier threads. But we're happy to talk with anyone by phone, if you have specific questions.  PM us for number.

Longer review
Types of work done:  Regular maintenance (oil and filters, engine and generator), replacement of bad wheel studs, a generator repair, new batteries, correct a slide bladder vacuum problem, replacement of black and gray valves, replace old satellite dish/put new HD over-the-air antenna on, perform annual service on AquaHot, find electrical issues with SeeLevel and tire pressure monitoring systems, seal/re-seal roof, and upgrade both TVs.

Staff We've Worked With:  James Holder, Bob Evans, Jimmy Branson, David Young. All have been first-rate. All have Foretravel experience. Direct contact with the tech working on the coach is encouraged. Brad Armstrong also worked on our coach during our visit August 2015 and also had Foretravel experience, but we recently heard from another owner that Brad is no longer at TN RV.

Deep Foretravel Experience:  Most readers of the Forum know TN RV was a Foretravel factory dealership, before Foretravel's business model changed. But maybe that information is worth repeating here for newer Forum members, especially those still searching for a coach, as we were 12 months ago. James Holder (who leads the service department) is a Foretravel owner. So is Roger Sellers, the owner of TN RV.

Customer Service Oriented: James Holder deserves high praise, as numerous others on the Forum have pointed out. So do the techs we have worked with.  Roger has been on-site during all three visits. He walks through the customer lounge and service department frequently, and wants satisfied customers. Susan & I have met and talked with many more of the staff, all of whom were pleasant and helpful. You'll feel welcome, if your experience is like ours.

Opportunity to Stay With the Coach:  Several posts in earlier threads stressed staying with the coach. Our sense is that, not only is this possible, but also that TN RV encourages it. In that way, the owner is available for questions or to offer opinions (e.g., "It can be done this way or that way. What would you prefer?").  Because we are full-timers, we also need access to our coach during the day while in the shop. No problem. Obviously, we're careful when passing through the work area, but for us, access is a huge benefit (unlike the Cummins service center we visited, where the coach disappeared and we were not allowed access). We have overnighted during two of our visits on the TN RV lot. 50 amp service is available. Propane and a dump station are also available.

During the last visit, we stayed in the Hampton Inn, just a short walk directly across the street. TN RV would have been happy for us to stay in the coach, but we knew it would be more efficient for the black/gray valve replacement and TV upgrades if they didn't have to give the coach back to us at the end of each day.

In summary, to have Tennessee RV within 2-2.5 hours away has been a huge help to us, given the distance we live from Nacogdoches, TX. We've seen earlier reviews from the days when CampingWorld shared the TN RV facility. Apparently those were not the dealership's best days, but Roger Sellers has full ownership now and the notes in this review reflect our current experience.

When we were having problems with our DD engine James Holder and I talked quite frequently and also by email. He is super knowledgeable about the 8.2  and readily provides advice. One tremendous asset for Tennessee RV.
His love of the Foretravel coaches comes thru every time we talk.

James and Curtis at the registration desk are very knowledgeable about Foretravel coaches and a pleasure to deal with at TN RV. I have had many services and repairs at TN RV and have always been happy with the work. Jimmy Branson is the go-to mechanic  for me, although I have never been dissatisfied with any mechanic's work at TN RV.

I have visited TN RV 3 times since I bought our coach. All have been good experiences. I will miss Brad but will be in good hands with James.
