New member introduction

I thought that even though I have already posted about shopping for a Foretravel. I should also introduce my self.

Official name is Jerry. My wife (Nona) and I live in Walla Walla Wa. Been married for 30 years.

I retired from the USAF in 1995. My main line of work in the military was electronics tech on Minuteman nuclear missile systems, Secondarily I was in supply, Which allowed me to get stationed in Tokyo, Japan for 5 years. After retiring, I wanted to go 180 degrees from my former life. So I bought an over the road truck, Started a small company (Bigdog trucking) and leased my services to FedEx ground. I have owned two Macks and one Kenworth W900L. That lasted 10 years as I rather got sick of driving nights from Rapid City, SD to Sheridan, WY. with two trailers in the snow, Ice and the constant assault from Kamikaze deer. Of which I killed 30 of them in those 10 years. (in a tractor with two trailers behind it, one does not swerve.) I also rescued/did first aid on three people from two separate roll over accidents on I-90. And managed to not have any accidents of my own over the 1.3 million miles I drove in those ten years.

My wife put in for a transfer to the Army Corp of Engineers in Walla Walla, Which was approved. In 2010 though, I was laid off from work. So we thought it was the perfect opportunity for a temporary change. So the wife put in another transfer request. Which was approved. So we rented out our home and off to Germany we went. We spent 4 years in Southern Germany, About a 40 minute drive from France. What a great adventure that was. In 2014 the wife returned to her former position at the COE in Walla Walla. She is now eligible for retirement but hasn't put in her papers yet. As we have seen Europe, Eurasia (Turkey) and the far east. We thought it time to explore North America. So here we are on ForeForums, Researching the purchase of a coach so that we might try to see America.

My hobbies are photography, Astronomy, birding, Flying stunt kites.

And that is my cliff notes life.
