Unable to switch between high/low headlight beams

Hi - appreciate some insight. On my 1993 GV U300 the headlights appears to be stuck on high beam.  I cannot find a headlight relay nor any blown fuze.  The blue? hi beam indicator is not lit on the dash. The coach is new to me - maybe it doesn't have the common indicator light?

I removed the turn signal stalk from the steel arm that goes into the steering column. [Removal was easy. Its broke and was taped on] Turn signals work fine, With headlights on the fog lights are on as well. This steel rod [picture attached] - should it move in and out to control high/low beam?  Mine appears to be spring loaded and will go in a bit but pops right back out.  Is this what is hosed?  Thank you  -Nick

Do you have the FOT telescoping steering wheel? Unlocks by turning the horn housing?
If so, is the wheel collapsed down to the point where the turn signal lever (in your case the steel bar) cannot be pulled toward you to change from Hi beam to Low beam and vice versa?
I had broken the plastic off the stalk just because I had collapsed the wheel to the point where the stalk couldn't be actuated so this may be why your plastic is broken off. I glued my plastic back together with JB Weld--four years ago, and now I am very careful about where the steering wheel is when collapsed.

I've got the same control lever on our '93 U280.  To answer your question, you pull the little steel lever toward you to switch between high and low beam.  It cycles from low to high and back each time you pull it.  It should "click" as you pull it, then return to the "resting" position.

The (green) high beam indicator light bulb may be burned out.  Access from the back side of the instrument panel.

The fog lights are controlled by the rocker switch marked "AUX LTS".  If your wiring is still original, then the headlights must be on before the AUX lights will work.  Some owners (like me) have modified the wiring so the AUX lights will work anytime, independently of the head lights.

Does your broken turn signal stalk include the cruise control switches?  Like nitehawk, I also had to repair a broken turn signal stalk.  The design of the plastic lever is very poor because it creates a weak point where the retaining pin goes through the plastic housing.  I also used JB Weld to "rebuild" the lever, and it is holding up just fine.

Thanks for the reply's. All is working now.  I'm going to try to 'jb weld' the stalk as you folks have - if it works I like it much better option over replacing the whole gizmo. Thanks again  -Nick
