Inverter Service At The Source

This is where I get my inverters serviced;  They are located a few miles north of Nashville, right off I-65.
I usually call first for an appointment, then take the inverter there.  They have always serviced anything I've
taken to them while I wait (which means having lunch in town and returning in about 1 hour or so).

The most I have had to pay was about $150.00.  YMMV

What is inverter service?  Is there some type of preventive maintenance recommended?  Always thought it was one of those things that when it fails it just gets replaced with newer technology.

If it's not working properly then try getting it fixed (serviced) before trashing it.
Servicing is a cheaper alternative to replacing.

Ah!  When you said "serviced" I thought of maintenance (like engine oil and filter changes) not repair (as in broken, needing fixing).  There are other posts here about good inverter repair places.  Glad you are adding to the list.

Something I've always wondered about...is it possible to convert a older model modified sine wave inverter to pure sine wave?  Or are they completely different inside?  Many older inverters are scraped, not because they fail, but because they simply won't supply suitable power to some modern devices (computers, microwave ovens, residential fridges, etc).
