Collision advoidance system

Would an aircraft system work on our coach..

Looking into this because of glare..... and acuity mostly, I can see the road cars..and have 20/60 corrected in one eye but would like some help.. anyone look into this?

Sorry to spoil your idea, but an aircraft system would not work as it needs both of the vehicles to have a working system to talk to each other. Cost may make coach bucks look like loose change as well. The airplane system also has UP and DOWN commands that may not work too good!!
But, my VW Touareg has a system that applies the brakes if you get too close to the one in front and it is adjustable.  Also many others have this kind of system these days.

My VW Touareg and a lot of the newer cars also have a side warning.  Mine has front back and side warnings with various lights and a chime to wake me up if I get too close. The side would be very close if it was showing another car on the road.
How you would get a system and retrofit a coach I have no clue I am afraid?

I notice Foretravel is offering it as part of a  package on the new  IH-45 . Will have to talk to the sales guys about it . Will be interesting just how much this system can actually do for the price . My coach has forward looking radar and wondering if it is  the early part of this new to do .  Will post what I learn about it .                    Brad Metzger

When we were at Driver's School last year (2014), I remember they talked about a 360 degree "bird's eye view" camera system that is offered on the newer coaches.  Allowed you to see all the way around your coach as you backed up.  Don't remember any details...  Perhaps the proximity warning system uses some of the same technology?

My coach has that all around camera thing . It is called  ( Air Cam ) . The newer coaches call it something else .  It really comes in when in tight traffic , when backing  and avoiding pinching the tires sidewall on the curbing . You can see clearly when your duals are past the point of danger in a sharp tight turn . Do you have to have it --no , but is kind of handy .            Brad Metzger
