mouse guard undercoat protection?

Has any body dealt with this product? It is made with natural stuff including peppermint oil and apparently is sprayed on with an undercoating gun and requires application once a year.

Never heard of that one but what part of the coach are you trying to undercoat? I have crawled under my coach and the only
rust I see anywhere is on the frame parts,for that I would use something from POR15 or Eastwood.

I think he is worried about mice, as they will find their way into the coach.  Often it is from the access chase from the engine to the front, for the wiring, plumbing, and fuel hoses.  I have found droppings in some bays, and trapped them in a number of places as well.

I use peppermint oil in cars I store through the winter.  Inside bays should work, but for a year?  I wonder.  The peppermint smell is overpowering for a couple weeks after I remove the soaked cotton balls.  I wonder if you would get used to the smell.

We had a minor mouse problem last year. We caught them, put out some mouse retardant, and monitored the problem. By the way we only had mice in one bay. This year, we put a small bowl with cotton balls soaked in peppermint oil in the bay with the aquahot. No mouse problems. Also this stuff seems to last a long time, and you can supercharge the peppermint oil by firing up the aquahot. No odor inside the coach.


My wife HATES the smell of mint. In the coach would NOT be acceptable.

Never "delt" with it, but noticed a advert for it in the lobby at MOT last spring. Bet it would also reduce infestation by elephants!

We've not had the little dears invade our domicile, but a friend with a OB had his in storage for a couple of years and they set up housekeeping. I don't know if he ever got rid of that smell.

I read this as moose guard undercoat protection.  And I thought of something like a cow catcher on the front end of the coach with big pickup truck like round tubing protection.  And if it got through all that then it isn't undercoat protection you need but undershorts protection.

We saw a car in Yellowstone after a close encounter with a moose.  There wasn't much left of the car ahead of the front seat backs.

And then I saw it was mouse.  Well the metal work could be a bit lighter duty, smaller holes and all.  Why are you worried about running into a mouse?

And then I saw pepermint oil.  OH! Something you spray all over underneath.  Hmmmm. Black, gooey, smelly ... Where are my glasses.  Where is my coffee.

Read the whole thing first.

A local dealer is selling it as a service, its isn't for rust it is for mouse repellant.  I had never heard of it before but it can be sold for diy application.  My cousin is thinking about getting it done on their fifth wheel in the spring.  I like the idea just not sure of the actual smell etc.

So what's he charging for the DIY and the "he does it" method?  And is there a record of success stories or any kind of testimonial type comments from happy past users?  Just wondering what the odds are that it works. 

I got rid of 2 mice (picked up in a country storage lot in NC) by diligence..kicked one right off the edge of & into the trash can, capped it all off, hauled him out the next day...snagged his buddy in a glue trap the next night...now when I head back to same storage place in May will use peppermint oil/cotton balls in the bays, see how that goes...heard it's the best method yet....

If I were you (or your cousin) I might wait til you have an actual problem, especially if the cost is high.

Dealer is charging 10 bucks a linear foot Canadian so 7 bucks us
Diy a five gallon bucket to do three 40 rv's is 479 us.
