Valance Lighting

We have a 2001 U320 and the rope lights in the valances has burnt out bulbs.  After some shopping around we opted to switch to LED RGB so in the future, we can have lighting effect we want.  We used the Mi Light controllers as they operate on 2.4ghx wifi.  Come with remotes and also a wifi controller with an app so you can use any device to control them.  They also have 4 zones so we can easily setup different area's.  I have attached pictures.  Not a hard job.  First one took about 2 hours, figuring out how to take the valance apart.  The Mi Light controller is placed in the upper cabinet false bottom.  You just have to remove one puck light and some screws that hold the upper cabinet bottom in and you can easily work with the wiring.  We love the color choices now and all the effects that are available.  The best part is we can set the lights so they go to the same color as the factory bulbs.  The key to sticking the led tape to the wood is carpet tape.  We bought a roll but of course it is to wide, so you take a utility with a fresh blade, spin in a circle on the roll and you have the perfect thickness.  Apply the carpet tape where the lighting will lay, peel off the backing and you are good.  Peel of the backing on the LED tape and you are stuck.

We did something similar because my bride hates florescent tubes more than I do so now Moby is all LED.
