time to replace my front radio

Hi all,
Our dash radio died a while ago so I am looking to replace with a new affordable radio, my question is , which wiring harness should I purchase that fits the plug in configuration in the dash? The  old radio was a Sony  XR-5250.
I plan on doing this install myself.
Thanks for any information and/or advice.

Up until a few years ago all you would have to do is unplug a Sony radio and then plug the new one in. Now they changed up the connector where the old one does not work anymore and you have to cut the old one out and install the new one that comes with the radio.  The last radio I just installed is the Jensen VX7012. I also changed out my camera in the back so now I can view also on the screen along with navigation.

I just installed a Sony MEX-XB100BT  and could not be happier. Has Bluetooth and comes with a microphone for hands free phone use.

Karl,
When my Sony died I sent it to them for repair. They did and works fine.
No changes, old one out and in.

Replaced ours 2 years ago with a Blaupunkt Toronto 420 BT.  Very happy with our choice.  I like the simple, clean front display that does not look like a teen-ager's video game.  You will have to cut off the old Sony plug and splice in the new one - not hard to do...just take your time.

I also replaced the 4 original front speakers (three of which were completely disintegrated).  I chose Polk 6.5" Coaxials:

They fit in the original cut-outs perfectly, and are a major improvement in sound quality.

John the radio can be used to drown out the person in the passenger seat if they tell you how to drive or talk to much.
