97 270 Redux Phase 2
This post is for newcomers, like us, that are researching the purchase of a Foretravel. Not everyone will agree to our approach but it has been a fun journey so far. Our purchase process is in another post. Phase two for us was to get the interior redone to what we liked. These were our mods and replacements. We wanted a clean look inside and one similar to what we would call a metro i.e. Pottery Barn.
We used Mitch at Infinity for our work. We enjoyed the relationship and especially his insight into upholstery etc. First, for health reasons, we needed to get the old carpet out. We decided to replace it with engineered hardwood from the front steps to the door to the bathroom. Armstrong tile in the bathroom. New carpet in the bedroom with the original pad left in place. We have posted before and after pictures.
We also wanted to tile the backsplash area and were very happy with the results.
Perhaps one of the most unique areas Mitch did for us he did under protest. We had a badly stained and torn jack knife sofa. He agreed to make the cover. It has welts and a passage way for the belts. We were very happy with the result and finally got his permission to post a picture.
Audio video was done and the TV updated fore and aft. The Vizio was centered and the woodwork redone.
We also had the two chairs recovered and again his work is exemplary.
Foretravel replaced the sewage valves, repaired the ice maker, reworked the water heater and tested the propane system.
Future work: Foretravel will be extending the AC ducts forward as well as installing LEDs in the extension.
