Strange things happening with turn signals, hazards, and clearance lights

I'm puzzled. When I turn on the right turn signal, everything is normal. Left turn signal - nothing (if headlights are off); all exterior lights blink if headlights are on. When I turn on the hazards - all exterior lights flash whether headlights are on or not.

This all started when I noticed the rear driver side turn signal wasn't blinking (front was blinking), and I replaced the bulb - which didn't cure the problem. Then I started noticing all these other wacky things as I tried all the functions.

After some searching here, I find posts about making sure the hazard switch is completely off (I believe it was), flasher switch in the dash (haven't tried to locate that yet), and maybe ignition solenoid as possible causes.  But, my symptoms didn't exactly match those I found in the posts. Has anyone had this type of problem before?

Any ideas are appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

Before anything else check your grounds.  If one is bad all sorts of weird problems can occur.

Make sure the bulb you put in the rear is correct and clocked correct. You could be jumping across the terminals
