Fuel sender resistance

Does anyone know the ohm curve for the fuel sender used on a 2003 U320? I think it may be 240 to 33. My original gauge is not working. Both the sender and the fuel gauge were replaced by PO within the past two years. I now suspect it is a problem with the control box behind the dash and therefore just want to put a new gauge in the dash that does not run through the control box.

I just received an email from FOT indicating I need to look for a gauge reading in 0 to 5 volt dc because of how the Centroid sender operates. I will need to contact some gauge companies to figure out what will work. If someone has already figured this out, please let me know.

Ed, it is the infamous "blue box" failure.  Mine is gray but ....  My fuel gauge never goes above about 5/8.  My volt meter died.  Both air pressure gauges died.  Actually all of the gauges are fine it is the box.  Air pressure gauges replaced with direct read mechanical gauges, much bettter.  Fuel and volts, oil pressure and temp, transmission, retarder and coolant temps, speed, gear, RPMs, boost and much more are all on VMSpc.  I rarely look at the dash.

We have the same problem. More times that not I have to turn the key from the off, to the run position, several times before the fuel gauge moves and then start the engine.
