Stopped the Leak (maybe)

For a while I have been fighting water leaking along one of the cables coming down from the top front cap into the entertainment device cabinet.

I had gotten up on a ladder several times and applied more caulk to the obvious subjects without result.
I began to suspect the search light. (Jabsco 1650). A Jabsco U-Tube showing how it is put together and comments from a couple of forum members prompted me to do something.

Since I don't think I have ever used the search light, I could do without it.
But,  I would have to clean away the existing caulk, plug the now uncovered holes, and did something with the wiring,.
AND, I am forbidden to climb on the roof or even work from the top of a ladder that tall.

The Problem...
The lamp is mounted inside the housing with at least 1/4" all around it. This is the source of the water. After 20 years the caulking around  the cable inside the housing must have failed and/or there used to be a bezel which is no longer around.

The Solution....
I cut a piece of thin clear plastic cutting board sized to fit over the lamp and gaps and then taped it on with white 'Gorilla' duct tape (the 200 mph stuff).

No water with the next thunderstorm!!
