Lost rear hubcap

We are on our maiden trip and have lost a rear hubcap.  Does foretravel in Texas carry these or can you find them on the road somewhere? It appears to be made by alcoa.  Thanks.

You can call either FT or MOT and have one shipped to you. You will probably want some new locking nuts too.

...can you find them on the road somewhere?
The ones you find "on the road" might not be in very good shape - when they fall off the trucks they get all banged up.

Sorry, Lynn and Linda (& Tank), it's probably not kind to welcome you to the Forum with a joke.  My bad...

We are glad to have you posting here, REALLY.  We need some "fresh faces" around here to provide new material.  I hope you are having a great time getting to know your beautiful new-to-you Nimbus.  Please post some photos...we LIKE photos!

Next time you stop at a Flying J or Pilot type truck stop check in their store.  I bought one at a Flying J.

We are loving it, but have more than a missing hubcap to worry about just now. Somehow our little ford escape on the route from phoenix to just outside Kingman lost its rear deferential.  The whole thing just fell off. We had used the car while in  Phoenix and it worked just fine. No indication anything was amiss.  A lady passing us was pointing to the back of the coach.  We were almost at our destination. Pulled into a large open area to check and my husband decided to start the car to allow the fluids to circulate.  Nothing. The young man who came to jump us had same problem, nothing. He noticed an orange oil on the rear of the car, plopped down and looked underneath.  He said he had never seen anything like it before, the differential and shaft was missing.  So little car has been taken to Anderson ford in Kingman. :o

I hate to ask but was the car in park? I forgot on my jeep one time and with all the horsepower I had in the Monaco I never noticed it until my brother starting blowing his air horn. It just skidded along the road for abut a quarter mile.

Speaking of hub caps, do you need to remove all the lug nuts to remove the hub cap?

Forget calling FOT - they will charge you 4 times the price for that item compared to a truck chrome shop. I had to replace mine once and was floored at the price from FOT. The shipping they quoted me for UPS was at a price for an object that would have been made in lead rather than plastic or chrome. Since that day, I find to purchase parts through the vendors or different shops so I am not gouged.

I would replace all the plastic lug nuts - they do not last to long. Check the other tires to be sure they are tight. If they are bad, they will spin in your hand and never get tight.
