New headlights

After 27 years the headlights had to go.  I had already treated the lens twice to get rid of the years of UV damage but knew it wasn't going to last.  Thanks to the many threads here the job was not a big deal.  I ordered the Ford OEM headlights from Amazon at $91 vs the $189 at the local auto parts store.

Thank you to those that had posted! This two hours job was smooth less.

Jeff, what did you try to get the lenses clear before you bit the bullet?

I tried a 3M lens restorer when I first bought her.  Then last year I tried a different one but sorry I don't remember.  They both worked well at first and looked nice but it just didnt hold up.

Same here. Do you have a link to Amazon for the lights you installed? I've been looking at these.

1987-1991 Ford Bronco & F150 F250 F350 F450 Pickup Truck (1988-91 F Super Duty) Head Light Lamp Headlamp Headlight

Edit: Forgot to ask... Was it just a unbolt and replace or did you have to modify the lights in any way?

see ya

Good questions, Ken. I had to buy this at a junkyard just to get the plug-in light harness. As you can see, mine are two piece.Did not take the headlight off, so I don't know about the brackets. I'm interested in how Jerry's retro worked without too much playing around. Hope you and Dori are well.  ^.^d

BTW, it was a bearcat to get that housing out and in w/limited tools!

I've wondered how long FT used the Ford head/turn lights. Now I'm wondering, who made the rears?  :-\

Sorry Ken I couldn't get the link brought back up on my phone.  I searched for 1989 Ford Bronco on Amazon and I followed the install from a post here.  There was some trim work to be done on the frame of the passenger side new light.  Since the front A/C unit is there and all the hoses it doesn't fit as easy as the driver side.  Driver side was simple.  Two bolts and a self taping screw.  No modifications for the driverside.
