Battery connector broken

While doing a house battery inspection and topping off the water, I discovered that one of the connectors that ties one side of the series parallel set up was broken at the terminal.  It wasn't corroded, just broken.  All that I can get from this is that it must have work hardened over the last 25 years and just failed.  The batteries are snug, but there must be enough vibration to eventually work harden these connectors.  All others are holding up well, but I will check them periodically.    Food for thought.  ----  Have a great day  ----  Fritz
