Low Water Pressure - City and Pump

This is not a truly perplexing issue but I need a starting point.  I hope and have every confidence that you (the forum) will be able to assist. 
 
My water pressure is low at the kitchen sink... the bathroom sink and the shower.  The toilet and the outside bay water pressure seem normal and this is the case regardless of city pressure or if using the water pump.  The water fill valve is not on when attempting to use either and besides the pressure through the manifold is fine to the utility bay faucet. 

So why is the pressure low inside the coach? 

-  The pump does seem to cycle as needed.
-  The pressure is low on both hot and cold.
-  I don't see an after manifold pressure regulator on any of the internal water drops except the toilet.
-  The blockage to all three at the same time could be a sign of a clog or plaque, but not very likely.
-  Searches in the Forum do not discuss low pressure noticed on either city or pump.

Trouble shooting ideas and your experiences with the same symptoms are greatly appreciated.

You might check for stuff in the water mainfold.

More likely the screens on the faucets are plugged up with grit and bits of stuff. And check the faucet cartridges as well.  It is a good practice to use a particulate filter for any water coming into the coach. Shower heads can get plugged up with calcium deposits too.

When I winterize our coach I ALWAYS remove the faucet screens and the shower spray head after winterizing is done. Come spring I run water thru everything until clear. THEN I replace the faucet screens/aerators and the shower head. I do check them periodically during the season and clean them if necessary.

Calcium in aerator on faucet spout first culprit Algae build up in water lines created problems for me in past after coach sat in FL for months

Thank you all for your input.  The trouble shooting will resume in earnest in the next few days.  I find interesting  that this a simultaneous occurrence.  Granted that the water system has not been regularly used for some time but the issue... for me seemed to be more deliberate (complicated) .  All of the faucets on the interior of the coach developed the same trickle effect while the potty and the exterior water supply seem adequate on either pump or city pressure / hot or cold.  implication here is that the pump is working the city pressure is also working and that the manifold too is functional.

I'll start with the outlets and insure that they are clean and free of debris and then work on the supply lines for algae/ plaque and then then manifold.  KISS acronym is what I should have stuck with.

It does seem strange that they plugged simultaneously,  but you could have had a crud burst in a section of piping that only affected these areas.  Clean strainer at the sinks, etc., and check for flow with the strainers removed before re-installing them.  Not knowing what your system looks like from a piping prospective, it is difficult to tell you what else could be affected by an isolated crude burst.    sHave a great day  ----  Fritz

Question on the same subject regarding calcium build up.  Does anyone use an RV water softener when hooked up to a water supply?

Calcium is not dangerous to your health, but can play heck with the fittings. We've tried a few brands, they all leak at the connections after a couple of hook-ups. I don't bother with them, but have seen some $$$ versions that the owners think work fine. :-\

John,

We camp a lot where the water is hard so we never hook up with out going through the softener.  Before the softener we would have to acid wash with vinegar at least yearly. Only trouble is you have to keep it from freezing as ours sets next to the water spigot outside.

John- being a full timer I use my tank and pump only.  I do filter all water coming in and use a portable RV water softener- very happy with it.

John, We use FloodSafe hoses, three filters, a pressure regulator and a water softener when the water is bad.  Fill the tank and use the pump.

Tobie  ----  I forgot to mention in my previous post that with the piping configuration on our 91 GV, If I leave the fresh water tank fill valve in the open position after filling the tank, I get the same reduced water pressure at the sinks due to the water recirculating back to the tank.  You may want to check your valve line up in general and make sure all valves are in the correct position.  Have a great day  ----  Fritz
