Generator bay problem

Hi all,

Can't get my generator door (2002 u320) to release. 3 of the electric latches work fine but one (a top one) wont let go. I can feel the switch being activated and I can move it.

The next thing I was going to try was removing the complete latch assembly.

Anyone have another suggestions ?

as always,

much appreciated

Try pushing in on the door corner while pushing the release button, to take the strain off the bear jaw latch.  Others have had good luck popping the corner with their fist.

If you can reach it from below with something the latch should release by pushing UP on the cable. Clean and lube .

Got it opened by removing a bolt and loosening the other on the latch. Not sure what caused the jam but it was difficult getting it opened even with the latch released.

Going to give her a greasing and adjust cables.
Thanks ll

Try a spray on dry Teflon lubricant, works great and dust and grit don't adhere to it.
