Power Steering Reservoir ['87 OREG]

Trying to check the power steering fluid on the old 87 Grand Villa OREG, but.... does anyone know where the reservoir is?

On our 91 GV with the side radiator, the steering reservoir is inside of the rear hatch just left of center.  It looks like it is about a gallon size or slightly larger.  It is also the reservoir for the coolant fan.  They are the same hydraulic system.    Have a great day  ----  Fritz

Thanks for the feedback - unfortunately, this is gas pusher with a rear-facing radiator so no joy there.  I'll keep looking.

If I remember correctly, it is located by opening the grill on the drivers side of the coach and it should be on your right as you are looking into the engine compartment.

Now that you have found it, you might consider changing the filter (or filters) and freshening the oil (or fluid).  If like a lot of older coaches, service probably hasn't been done for a while...or ever.

Of course, your power steering tank might not have a filter.  But you won't know unless you take the lid off, empty the tank, and look inside.  At least when you refill it (with fresh fluid), you will be doing the system some good.

Then take a look at your steering gear box.  If you are losing power steering fluid you might have some seals leaking.
