[need feedback on possible purchase]2007 Foretravel Nimbus 342 with 47,000 miles

I am new to the forum and posting because I am considering purchasing a Foretravel from a friend.  I have taken this RV on one trip from Oklahoma to California with a few stops along the way and we enjoyed the trip a great deal.  Just too short of a time frame.  Long story short I am interested in any feed back on this model or similar models.  He has priced the RV (good friend discount) at $200,000.00 which includes a 2007 Jeep Wrangler tow car that has 48,000 miles.  Any input on valuation, performance, experiences etc. would be much appreciated.  I have been looking through the Forum and it looks like a great resource for me once I commit and take the leap.
Thanks,
Terry

There are Forum members who have a 2007 model. I am sure you will be hearing from them soon. Both Motorhomes of Texas (MOT) and Foretravel of Texas (FOT) have 2007 models listed for sale on their web sites.

okkid, you can PM me with any specific questions. The price seems in line, of course it is very contingent on condition and maintenance.

As an owner of a 2007 Nimbus, there are several issues you need to aware of for sure. Some of these issues can really bring down the price when you know where to look for them. PM me is you wish more details before buying. You might be better off holding for either a newer model or buying an older model. $200,000 is too high.

What are the issues with the 2007 Nimbus. I am seriously considering buying one soon. It is listed for 189,900. What should I offer for it?

Price is depended on maintenance, condition, milage and upgrades. Impossible to provide a number without knowing those things. Have a look at MOT as they are known to price fairly.

Boy, this is a tough one. I would recommend following up on Bob's offer to PM him.

I bought a 2007 and have had a few issues. Bob has had a lot more experience than I. My problems were different and, for the most part, not as significant. Ironically, as Bob pointed out, our two coaches came down the assembly line one right after the other. I am the second owner and got it when it was seven years old with 10,000 miles. Now, two years later, I have 39,000 miles. Have really enjoyed it, but has not been uneventful.

Feel free to PM me with whatever info you want. Definitely touch base with Bob.

Even though the current owner is a friend, a PPI performed by a reputable Foretravel saavy technician and a reputable composite/structural specialist could save you many coach bucks by ruling out issues that may not be immediately obvious to an untrained eye.  MOT and Xtreme are good examples.

Best of luck in your search - you're considering an excellent brand.
