Re: Door hold open doesn't

On my 98, the door would not stay in the open position. Standing on a step ladder I could see years of wear on the old parts that had been worn away. There is a moving part that should notch into a recess. My notch and moving parts were all rounded off. The new part was about the same price from the parts counter while at FOT.
The new assembly was a complete unit, for the top of the door, and the top of the door opening. The only tricky part is making the in the door cable connection where it hooks to the new unit. As mentioned, it's about an hour to replace, and you don't need to take the door panels apart.
Then you will have to help others understand they need to release the open door catch, and not just pull the door loose off the catch with force.
