Dash Warning Alarms

Anyone know how to figure out if this coach has the ability to sound an alarm when a gauge goes out of the "normal" range?

I've definitely got the turn signal alarm, which is very loud.  I found one old post about placing tape on that speaker to quiet it down a bit, so I'm going to try to locate and fix that.  But I don't know if the gauge warning alarms are from a different speaker or a different module altogether.

Mainly, just wondering where the warning speaker system might be located on an '03 U295 and if anyone has any ideas on how to trace the issue of it not sounding.  I suppose it's possible that the system has never had to activate an alarm, but just want to be sure.

As I recall, it is a Sonalert located under the instrument panel cover.  A black round thing.  I disconnected mine when i needed to limp home in limp home mode some years ago.  Just take the top cover off and you should see it behind the radio.

Mine was closer to the back end of the air brake manifold.  It is black, about an inch in diameter and an inch long. Twomscre terminals on the back.  The sound comes out the fron end. It has a cover that can be turned to make the holes smaller and reduce the sound level.  I added a switch to mine to disable it after my air gauges quit and it dinged continuously.  I missed the turn signal function so I wired a feed from the left and right turn signals through diodes to the beeper.  Works great again.

Tom, Roger, thanks for the info.  I'll start looking for it.

So it sounds like it is just one unit that controls both the turn signal alert and the gauge warnings.

In my 91 the turn signal beeper has a knob on it you can raise or lower the volume with.
