bladder leak?

How do you know if a bladder is leaking on a slide out.  My air pump runs off and on and I cannot find a leak in any fittings or air bags.

Hi Pete -

Welcome to the FoFum.

Try to slide a credit card between the side wall opening and the black rubber bladder.  I believe there is only about 12psi of air pressure in the bladder but if the bladder is deflated the credit card will slide in with little resistance.  You also might hear a hissing sound of the air escaping.  You might also locate the slide bladder manifold and check for the hissing sound there.  You will have one slide manifold per slide.  If we knew what year and model coach you have it would be easier for us to give you a probable location of this manifold.  Ours is located in the driver's side large bay attached to the forward wall.

If you perform a Search function and key in Slide Bladder Leak you will find many posts that might assist you.

Just an additional thought.

If your Aux. Compressor continues to run and you want to shut it down, there is probably and in-line fuse that can be pulled to stop the compressor.  This in-line fuse is located near your Aux. Comp. on a single Black wire.  This is an automotive fuse holder which is also black with a cover that pulls off.  We installed a 12 volt in-line toggle switch that enable us to shut down the comp. if it continues to run.
