Headlight Restoration

The headlights on this rig were very cloudy. You can't really tell from this photo but the driver side is done. Anyhow, the product I used is 3M Headlight Restoration kit from O'Reilly's. It's $32 and well worth it. It's a four step process with drill sanding with three progressively finer grits followed by a buffing and waxing. This is the best product I've found. I installed new lights on the 95 but this one, with its four lights mounted in a special base makes buying new too expensive.

I found 1500 wet sanding followed by Maquire's finishing product worked well. Be sure to use the 1500 in one direction.

I assume the headlight lens is glass, right?

Wrong - they are plastic...which is why they fade, cloud and turn yellow.  Poor choice of material...
