House batteries

I have  a 2003 U270 and having a battery problem. Since we never boondock do I need the large house batteries or can I replace them with smaller less expensive deep cycle batteries? Will I have to program the prosine inverter for the smaller batteries?

Yes, if you change either battery technology (AGM/gel/wet cell) or battery bank size (in amp-hrs) you need to reprogram the inverter/charger.  And, if you do not have the battery temperature probe, you will need to CHANGE TEMPERATURE SETTING AS TEMPERATURES CHANGE WITH THE SEASONS.

Yes, read your Prosine installation and view a YouTube video if it's available. You will also need to find the specs from the manufacturer for your new batteries. While the new chargers have a equalize setting, some battery manufactures don't advise using it so it may need to be turned off if it's the default setting. Our AGM batteries warn against using the equalize setting. Others recommend it.

Nice to have the temperature sensor for two batteries and especially if mounted in a closed compartment. Good to have AGMs if they are in a compartment.

The temperature probe will be on one of the battery terminals and the wire will either be small gauge or more likely a "telephone style/flat" wire that plugs into the back of the inverter/charger.
