Thoughts on new Bose systems

Anyone have experience of new Bose systems?  Thinking I may replace the whole thing, realize it's a whole rewire but really do like Bose ??

I just ordered a Yamaha RSX601.  Will see how that works.  It's thinner than some so I think it will fit.

We had a bigger Yamaha in our U295 and was pleased with it.

I do not understand why you would have to rewire!
I would cut off at both ends and splice.
Rewire is not difficult because all wiring for TV and dash radio are in upper front cupboards or under dash. If you remove the trim piece up each side of the windshield you will see the dash to upper cupboard wires.

Replace Bose or not depends on what you want/need. I am an audiophile so do not want Bose, however, Bose is great for 95% of folks who are satisfied with background music.

I am currently installing a Sony audio video receiver with blue ray to the original Blaupunt speakers, a new centre speaker and a new sub for the TV.
For the audio, I already have a Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo with an Infiniti sub driven by a separate amp.  I am also installing KEF LS50 bookshelf speakers which are quite large (and expensive) for a motorhome but are audiophile quality.

The 3-2-1 used in Jimmy's 2003 likely has an Acoustimass module which is actually the "thing" that drives all the speakers.

The wiring from the 3-2-1 to the Acoustimass uses a Bose-proprietary connector that is actually no longer being used or produced by Bose.  The wiring itself isn't likely to be entirely compatible with standard AV.

As usual Michelle you are on the money regards Bose wiring, I was thinking about the cable route from Bose DVD player to accustimass under kitchen sink ?

I also like the simple controls on  Bose systems , there used to be a company called NAD that was stripped down to basic controls for the less technically inclined.

I had contemplated the series 3 edition hoping that I could adapt the wiring connections.  Current Bose systems are rather pricey or I am out of touch which is entirely possible!

Jimmy,

Several years ago we talked to Bose and nothing was available that would be compatible with the old 3-2-1 setup.

Wyatt why not get the Beolab 90 as shown here. They sound nice and would only need one I guess. Brother Geoff used to have a BEO system in England if I remember right.

Sometimes its easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask permission ^.^d  lol

If you dont post for a while we will know you ordered it and are in recuperation or laid up in the hospital or worse ;)

On a side note.. are the speakers wired for 12v off the switch above the door I believe mine is a DHS(sp)
I get static in the speakers no matter what I am listing to.. xm, radio or whatever.. I want to replace.. I have some Onkyo speakers in the garage I used for surround sound a while back and was thinking of maybe replacing

Looking at costs and installing new theater system brought up the full remodeling conversation, think we may go with another used Bose until we can get to FT and look at plans for full remodel or a new coach which would be my preferred option ( again depending on approval by the boss)

I used to work (25 years ago) in high end audio when Bose 901's where "the stuff".  We had a saying, "no highs, no lows, must be Bose".

Sorry for the thread drift.  Your comment brought back some fun memories.
