JACK ANTENNA

Have a jack antenna,I re-did all my coax wires coming into coach.Cannot get a signal on the tv.The tv is a Visio and worked
with the antenna when we got coach about 1 1/2 years ago.I tried a good coax cable from the antenna to the back of the
tv coax input, think I am missing something in the equation, tv works fine with blu-ray,any ideas???

Did you check input on TV so that it is the same as you have the coax.

Is the Jack Antenna a powered antenna - needing 12 VDC?

Yes, it's powered by the same source as the "BAT" antenna or you can use the power supply that comes with it. Just make sure not to use both. It works well. When we were up on the hill at Kent's house in OK, it got over 40 stations. Only takes five minutes to make the change over from the old one. Make sure you have the switches in the correct position in the coach or it won't get any. Took me a couple of minutes to figure that one out.

Doesn't the TV have a rf (coax) input?

The Jack is an over the air antenna and will feed your tv ota signals. It is only coax and must be screwed into the "antenna in" connection on your tv, and your tv input must be  set to "tv". If not working, as mentioned your selector box may have been changed from "antenna in" to something else. Hdmi is only for inputs from directv/dish receivers, blu-ray players etc.

Before you go any further, find your TV's model and then do a google search for the user manual in PDF format. It will have exactly how to make the connection for OTA TV and how to choose it as the source.

Did above, have a signal meter will hook up in morning and make sure we have a signal, the coax antenna input does work at
the parks that have cable.

You have to scan for channels in the setup to get all that is available.

Not sure what you exactly mean by scanning and setup, am using the king brand signal meter, has 4 lights that light up for the
signal. The tv does not have a "setup" button, you put it on av input and use the channel changer to find channels, on this one
you have to leave it on the channel for a few seconds for the signal to appear.Tv works fine with the parks that have cable tv.

What Craneman is talking about is in the "menu" possibly found on your remote control. Do you have a late style LED/LCD high definition TV with at least one HDMI input? Usually, the remote with have a "setup" menu for OAT tv where it scans all channels and then shows a number on the screen for the channels it has found. This will be different from the "cable" menu. Makes life easy.

Does the TV have a menu button?
If so click on it. Then find where to scan for channels.

As far as I can tell this one does not, will call FOT and talk to service dept, pretty sure they installed it, cannot find a model number
on it unless I take the whole wooden framework apart. The meter just has the strength not how many signals, when I go thru the
channels call signs and numbers come up but not a picture.Think basically I'm good for now. Will get on the roof today and see
which model I have and make sure it gets HD.

As far as I can tell this one does not,

Can you post a photo of the TV remote?  That's where the Menu or Setup button would be, not on the TV itself.

Have you tried spinning the Jack antenna around in small increments to see where your TV tower signals come from?  If you didn't realize it before, the Jack antenna is VERY HIGHLY directional and needs to be pointed towards the tower (or towers) in most cases.

I have one and hate the thing.  I can get about half the channels available when the antenna is pointed in one direction but it needs to be turned around to get the other channels.

If you used the Jack antenna that mounts to the roof instead of the lift mechanism from the batwing then it will require the new amplifier that came with the Jack antenna.. The replacement head only will work off the old amplifier.
