engine oil

I have a Cat 3208 T  none electronic    has  around 6000 miles on it  what kind of oil are yall using and how many miles or months do you change the oil, I had 18 wheelers for 10 years ran rotella T  had great milage out of it        thanks

Yes, Shell Rotella T 15-40 is a good and common choice.

Brett, isn't the Shell Rotella 15W-40 in the silver jug almost half synthetic--and a better choice/buy?

I have approx 200k and I used the silver last round .. is full synthetic ok or half and half better?

No reason to use full synthetic at our normal annual changes unless commonly in extreme heat or cold.

Same engine, have been running  15-40 Amsoil with it.

What is considered extreme heat? Las Vegas gets into 120 degree days.. I would consider that extreme.

Synthetic has been proven to significantly reduce wear and have better lubricating and cleaning properties. Why not use it? One can also run it longer.
