Fresh water is leaking

Just another challenge in MH ownership. My motorhome is stored inside a facility, I am preparing to go on a rally in Vegas and I found fresh water dripping from the utility bay, under the electrical reel. Its obviously coming from some other place in the MH.  Fresh water tank was 1/3 full now almost empty.

Any thoughts as to where I should start looking. It's a 2002 U320 40'. Anyone else have had this problem.  All thoughts are appreciated.

Mine did that when I used the flush function and the water line behind the face plate was cracked. Might be as simple as a cracked line behind that wall.. Removing those pieces are a pain but once out, it was a half way easy repair and room to work..

Might not be the same but pull it apart and maybe its an easy fix

Our coach picked up a leak that was coming from the joint in the tank to the outlet line, right in the bottom RH corner of the tank in the curbside bay. Having nothing else on hand at the time, i sealed it with this clear rubber based stuff called "through the roof" that I keep in the basement for occasions such as this. As with so many temporary repairs, 4 years on and not a drop has leaked since...

I had the orings leak on each side of my water pump last month. Had a spare pump and swapped orings, then ordered two additional sets. Drained the FW tank into the bay.

I was stuck at the time replacing the ECU.

Check your fresh water hose reel carefully, particularly the center mechanism.  It can be tough to see, but that area can develop a leak.  Now, there should be a check valve to prevent water from coming back from the tank to the hose, but they do fail which is why I wouldn't rule this out.

Thanks for all your replies. David, I'm not sure of the wall you are talking about. Is it behind the vacuum toilet? I wondering if it might be the Manabloc. The coach is kind of leaning a little lower on the driver side and the manabloc is directly across on passenger side of the coach, could this be the problem? I don't really know, but thanks for all replies.

I just rebuilt my Manabloc because it was barely leaking.

If you remove the trim piece that hides it you can easily see if it has been leaking.  If you find that you do need to rebuild yours
I can steer you towards the parts.

Good luck and keep us posted.

You might look around you fresh water pump and associated piping. As far as I know that is the only connection at the bottom of the water tank. For the tank to be completely empty the leak would have to be ne'er the bottom of the tank.

Ralph,

FYI Water leaks in this area are one of the causes of rust-jacking of the rear bulk head and weakening of the Huck bolts. Another cause is the water tank overflow exit just ahead of the driver's side dual wheels. A thorough search for this problem involves taking down the fiberglass skin directly ahead of the rear bulkhead. You will not be able to know the full extent of any damage until it is uncovered. How I know this...I just had a two foot by 8 foot section of the floor replaced.

Jim you mean rolocks?  Yours has huck  bolts? Hard to weaken them.  Used to build commercial airliners using huck fasteners.

We had to rig safety shields around the area where we were drilling out a incorrect huck fastener.

Loud noise in a huge building when they released.

The metal around them might rot but not the huck stuff.
