Step Well Cover Won't Retract

Does anyone know how to manually retract the step well cover?  Or pull the whole thing out?  We are a couple of days away from our destination and can work on fixing it but until then it is extremely hard to get in and out!  2008 Nimbus

There is a  valve under the coach on the step area.  It should have 3 lines and a pressure regulator and air gauge.  You can try reducing the air pressure down to 0.  I had the same problem last fall.  If you can disconnect the air line to that valve and cap it off the cover can be moved manually.

When my '99 step cover wouldn't retract, I had to disconnect and cap the fittings (1/4" NPT I think) to the Norgren valve. All air must be dumped first. Once that was done we could operate the cover manually until we could get a new valve from Foretravel. The part number was: Norgren V61R517AA312. This valve was slightly taller than our original valve but functioned identically.
