Queen Bed into a 29ft 1992 Grandvilla?

Hello :)

First post, so go easy on me if this is a silly question.

My wife and I are looking at getting a 29ft 1992 Grandvilla and notice that it has a full-size mattress in it.

If the references I'm looking at are correct ( 1992 Front Engine Specifications )
Then our 60x80" queen mattress is about 6 inches over on width (from 54") and 4 inches over on length (from 76")

The current owner said they believe I could fit a queen in there and basically sacrifice a bit of space on the built-in nightstand and might not even need to make any modifications. I'm thinking I'd probably need to support the extra inches at least a bit.

My question is: Has anyone done this? Maybe have some pictures of how much this reduces the space? Or if anyone has information on how much space there is between the bed and the chest of drawers at the feet of the bed so I can tell if there will be any space left to scoot around or if I'll need to be doing leg lifts to get into bed every night :)

Hope that makes sense!

Some other information:
- We really want to put our queen mattress in there. We just got it a few months ago and love it - it's a Purple mattress and it's been amazing.
- My wife is currently pregnant, so those extra few inches will make a big difference right now for everyone's comfort, so if we can make it work, we're going to! :)

Welcome to the Forum.

Hope both of you grow to love your Foretravel as all of us do.

Drive around and look for a big cardboard box and make a template

the size of a queen mattress and put it in the bedroom and see how

much space you have. If the base is too smal you can build a new base out of plywood.

The configuration of your coach might be another problem. Our coach layout mandated coming down the hallway, bathroom on driver's side and cedar closets opposite side. Hallway narrow. Queen pillowtop mattress--about 10" thick (can't measure because the coach is in storage until Wednesday). Actually had to "fold the mattress about 30+ degrees (side to side) to enable lifting it thru the space between ceiling and bed platform. This folding was also necessary because we couldn't lay the mattress down as most of it was still in the hallway when we had to get above the bed platform.

Thanks for all the posts! :)

We did end up getting the Foretravel and we LOVE IT!

It needs some work to make it fit our needs but we'll get it there :)

So, looking at the back, with our purple mattress, we might literally be able to just squeeze it into the space that's there - and it looks like there will still be enough "walk around" space to work for our needs... but... There is a built out corner in the wall that I think may be there to hold the current "full size" bed in place.

After looking around, it seems like it is just an empty hole behind it - so I'm thinking I might be able to cut that corner out, make the wall flush from side to side (like it is on the other side where the bed is) and be able to fit the queen in there pretty well.

Does anyone know if I'm misguided there? Is there something important behind that corner? (I'll get pics of what I'm talking about as soon as I can)
