Imagine My Surprise

Imagine my surprise today when I walked behind the coach and a swallow flew out of the tailpipe!  I just drove the coach yesterday and parked it at about 7 PM.  Today maybe 16 hours later these industrious swallows had staked out their new home.  There was some pine needle nesting material at the edge of the tailpipe.  As a temporary solution I wadded a bunch of paper towels and blocked their entrance.  The swallows were not happy and started buzzing me!!

I wonder if anyone makes a plug or cover like the ones that go in private jet engine nacelles when the jets are out of service?  A quick Google search didn't find anything.

The Swallow's side of the Story: "Harriet and I searched for a nice spot over near those Pine; looked for weeks, good schools, you know...Spotted the perfect spot--StainlessSteel, about Five inches. What? ID or OD?!? Forget that, it was perfect! Then...'

We use a used up tube sock stretched over it for the same reason.  If you forget to take it off it will just blow off. Ask Mike to tell you about his bird ordeal if you ever see him around a campfire.

Check with the Amish ladies. Maybe you can get one of their caps that look like coffee filters but larger.

Haven't experienced a bird, but a travel friend had a ground squirrel try to move into his tail pipe. We were sitting outside his coach and saw the little critter go in, he went in and started the engine. The squirrel went in looking normal, when it was blown out he had turned BLACK ! 🐹😳
